Austrian guitarist and composer Thomas Wallisch-Schauer is a graduate of the famed Berklee College of Music in Boston/USA where he received the ‘Jimi Hendrix Award’ and graduated „summa cum laude“ in 1997.
He has received important scholarships and awards, including the Jimi Hendrix Award at Berklee College of Music, the Professional Music Endowed Scholarship and the Carinthian Music Promotion Award.
Further stations in his life were Berlin and Vienna before he received a professorship for jazz guitar at the Carinthian State Conservatory in 2003. From October 2012 to October 2014, Thomas Wallisch-Schauer was head of the Department of Music Education (IGP) there.
His concert activities have taken him to Europe, Asia, South America and the USA. Due to his stylistic versatility, Thomas Wallisch-Schauer is a sought-after studio musician. To date, he has produced nine CDs under his own name and participated in more than 50 CD productions.

KLANGBEISPIEL
Thomas Wallisch-Schauer has released a new CD with his duo Lila House: Ö1 Radiosession.
It features his Sonntag J17H ballad, recorded on a Fender Blues Junior with a Shure SM57. Great music and a nice example of how a ballad can sound!
