31 Years of Sonntag Guitars
November 30, 2024, marked the 31st anniversary of the founding of Sonntag Gitarrenbau.
I took this date as an opportunity to hold an anniversary celebration and tried to invite as many people as possible who have been connected to my workshop and my career as a luthier over the decades.
Helping Hands
With this celebration, I wanted to thank everyone who, over the course of 31 years, has helped get my workshop up and running and keep it running. I can build a guitar. But there are other areas that I can’t cover on my own. I need my finisher, Andi Neubauer, in Vienna. I need my graphic designer, Dietmar Liehr, who designs the advertising. Metal hardware parts are manufactured by Erich Baum of EBM. I purchase pickups primarily from Harry Häussel and Andreas Kloppmann. Wood supplies are mainly delivered by Tonholz Berkmann in Vorarlberg. I get the decorative elements from Andreas Rall at Rall Guitars. Mother-of-pearl logos and inlays are crafted by Martin Seeliger and Moritz Sattler at Lakewood Guitars. Fellow instrument makers inspire me with tips and advice. My bandmates keep me in good spirits with their music. My family helped with setting up and taking down.

Playing Hands
And last but not least, of course, the guitarists who have purchased Sonntag guitars and bring them to life with their artistry. Among them are Bruce Forman from San Francisco, Paulo Morello from Berlin, Wesley G. from the Palatinate, Frank Wingold from Cologne, Etienne Wittich from Berlin, Armin Bonner from Feldkirch, and many more...
This celebration was also intended to give my guests from these various areas of the guitar world a chance to get to know each other and check out who else is involved with Sonntag Gitarrenbau. They all helped make my anniversary celebration at the Riegele Brewery a spectacular event.
